Bǎilín sì 柏林寺 is one of the larger temples in Běijīng 北京.

Contents

History

Established during the Yúan 元 Dynasty, this temple was expanded to its largest dimensions during the Qīng 清 Dynasty. From its inception until the fall of the Qīng, the temple was used by Tibetan and Mongolian Buddhists.

After a brief revival under Táiyuán 台源 in the late 1920s, the temple shut down in 1931 after the Mukden Incident.
