Míngshān 茗山 (1914-2001)

• Born 1914 (Mínguo 民國 3) in Yánchéng County 鹽城縣, Jiāngsū 江蘇
• Died at 6 p.m. on June 1, 2001 at Guǎngcí Hospital 廣慈醫院, Shànghǎi 上海
• Lay surname 姓: Qián 錢
• Name 名: Yánlíng 延齡

Ordained in 1934 and tested into the Jiāoshan Buddhist Seminary 焦山佛學院.

A disciple of Tàixū 太虛 and a student at the World Buddhist Institute 世界佛學苑 in Wuchang under Fǎfǎng 法舫.

In 1947, Tàixū invited him to head the Jiāoshan Buddhist Seminary.
