There are several institutions in China called Tiānníng Temple 天寧寺.
Chángzhōu Tiānníng Temple 常州天寧寺
The Chángzhōu Tiānníng Temple 常州天寧寺 was founded in the 7th century and continues to operate today. It was founded by Chan Master Fǎróng 法融禪師, and was known as Guāngfú Temple 光福寺 before the 12th century
- Chángxǐng 常惺 practiced here for a short time in the 1910s
- Yuányīng 圓瑛 and Yīngcí 應慈 studied here in the early years of the 1900s
Yángzhōu Tiānníng Temple 揚州天寧寺
The Yángzhōu Tiānníng Temple 揚州天寧寺 was founded in 385 CE during the Eastern Jin 東晉 Dynasty, and is still active today. It was formerly know as Xiè Sīkōng Temple 謝司空寺.
- The Universal Saṇgha Study Hall 普通僧學堂 was located here in the early years of the 1900s
- Rénshān 仁山 studied here in 1906
- After its closure the Jiāngsū Saṇgha Normal Study Hall 江蘇僧師範學堂 was founded in Nánjīng 南京
- Dàxǐng 大醒 was ordained here in 1924
- Miàoshàn 妙善 (1909-2000) was ordained here in 1932
