Timothy Richard 李提摩太 (1845-1919)
Timothy Richard was a Welch missionary who spent 40 years in China, and who studied and published on Buddhism in China.

Biography
Richard published a number of works on Chinese Buddhism, using his own particular method of interpreting it as a Chinese expression of Christianity. He worked closely with Yáng Wénhuì 楊文會 on a translation of The Awakening of Faith in the Mahayana 大乘起信論, but Yáng is said to have later expressed his dissatisfaction with the translation.
