A Buddhist seminary 佛學院 established in 1918 at Guānzōng Temple 觀宗寺 in Níngbō 寧波 by Dìxián 諦閑. The curriculum of the standard three-year course initially focused exclusively on the study of Buddhist scripture. Monks began studying traditional literature and other subjects from 1929. By the early 1930s the name of the school had been changed to the Dharma Propagation Academy 弘法學院. It ran until 1939.
The Periodical of the Dharma Propagation Society 弘法社刊 was published here from 1928 to 1932.
