Fóxué cóngbào 佛學叢報 (Buddhist Miscellany) was one of the two earliest Buddhist periodicals published in China, the other being Buddhist Monthly 佛教月報, which was also published in Shànghǎi.
It contained scholarship, art, literature, Q&A, Buddhist news. Cài Yuánpéi 蔡元培, Oūyáng Jìan 歐陽漸, and Dìxián 諦閑 all published important expositions there. Some monks published careful scholarship there, and Yìnguāng 印光 used the periodical to promote Pure Land Buddhism. Its style was imitated by later magazines. Yǒuzhèng Press published numerous advertisements for their Buddhist publications here. In 1914 there were plans to continue the publication as a monthly beginning from issue 13, but they apparently never materialized.
The periodical was sold by branches of Yǒuzhèng Press in Shànghǎi, Běijīng 北京, and Tiānjīn 天津, and by the Jiāngxī Buddhist Association 江西佛學會 in Nánchāng 南昌.
