Qīngdǎo 青島 is the largest city in Shāndōng 山東 Province, and sits on the southern coast of the Shāndōng Peninsula.

• Zhànshān Temple 湛山寺 is located in in Qīngdǎo 青島
  • The Zhànshān Temple Buddhist Seminary 湛山寺佛學院 ran here from 1934 to 1946.

Other Notes

• It was the headquarters of a German Concession in the province from 1898 until 1914.
• Kāng Yǒuwéi 康有為 was poisoned here in 1927.
