Greg, I am going to starting writing messages at the TOP of your talk page, so you don't have to scroll all the way down.
The Nanjing page seems like a fine idea. I am not sure how useful it will be, but time will tell. More important, of course, will be pages for specific temples, presses, and schools, for all of which we can add links to maps.
I have found a problem with the search engine. Not all words come up and the problem seems to be more recently-added content. For example, after inputting the page on K. L. Reichelt 艾香德, I ran a search for "Reichelt" and that page did not come up. Only the mention of his name under the World Buddhist Federation page 世界佛教聯合會 appeared. The same things happened after I tried searching "Invasion" and "大鬧金山" after putting in the 大鬧金山 page. Is it possible that the engine does not update its index automatically? I have tried searching for more recently added pages, and they don't see to come up, either in Chinese or English.

Greg,
Is there any way that we can set up the search engine to ignore tone markings? I ask because once we have non-Chinese speakers (of those without pinyin input capability on the computers they are using, a problem I have today), it makes it difficult to find things.
-Erik
I have two questions for you: 1) How do you set up an automatic redirect? 2) How do you get the computer to automatically put in your name+time (as you did on my Talk page)?

I was also thinking 100 myself. I am rapidly approaching the end of what I have ready in files, but I feel there are about a dozen people we should include before we go public, such as Yuanying, Jiang Weiqiao, Cihang perhaps, and, of course, Jichan the Eight-fingered Ascetic. Perhaps I can work on brief sketches of them this weekend.
A constitution of sorts would not be out of the question. I like what you have done with the Creative License. I will look at statements on other sites (such as Wikipedia) and see what looks good. Feel free to do the same.

I found another issue with the pinyin Romanizer = Initial En takes no tone mark. This may be a problem with many of the initial vowels.

The pinyin window looks great and works like a charm. Do you think we should add Sanskrit diacritics?
I think the index page is OK, but is not really necessary. I say this because once we pass a certain number of pages, it will become much more expedient to do a simple search.
I have Yú's 現代佛教人物辭典 here and there is a good entry on 會覺, 2:1308a-1309a (followed immediately by 楊仁山!) I will input that page this weekend. I am also going to put up a list on my page of 'Must have' entries to work on before we go live.

Greg, the statement looks good. I cannot think of anything to add right now, though if I think of anything later, I will let you know.
--Erik hammerstrom 10:33, 25 May 2009 (CST)
I'll give the new search engine a shot. It seems a shame if we can only get pinyin OR 漢字.
The only two entries I think we really need right now are 王一亭 and 內學. Anything else can wait. I am pretty burned out on this thing right now, but I think we have enough for a launch. I'll wait to hear what you think about these entries and then we can each do a complete editing sweep through the site.
Oh, and one more thing. Putting the title of a page in bold has no effect as ( == string == ) already does this:

That's good advice. Thank you. As long as we are taking our time, there are probably a few other entries that I could think we might need. I will update the list I have on my own page to reflect this.
