- Chúnmì 純密 was born here in 1901
- Yíguāng 怡光 lived here in the 1910s and 1920s, and was abbot of Kāiyuán Temple 開元寺
- The Japanese Shingon 東密 master Gonda Raifu 權田雷斧 gave esoteric initiation here in 1924
