After the founding of the Republic, many of the monasteries in Tài County 泰縣 banded together to open a school for their younger monks. Zhìguāng [[智光]] was the school's first principal. Courses included Chinese language, history, geography, math, English, and Buddhist studies. The school averaged over fifty students.

The school closed after three terms owing to a lack of funds.
