'''Chénkōng 塵空 (1908-1979)''' was a prolific writer whose works often appeared in the periodical ''Hǎicháoyīn'' [[海潮音]].

==Biography==

Chénkōng was tonsured by one Fúhuì 福惠 in [[1918]] at Yùquán Temple 玉泉寺 in Dāngyáng county 當陽縣. There he received a classical education, and in [[1925]] took the full precepts at Zhānghuá Temple 章華寺 in Chángshā [[長沙]]. In [[1929]] he began classes at the Wǔchāng Buddhist Seminary [[武昌佛學院]], later studying at the Bǎilín Institute [[柏林教理院]] in Běipíng [[北平]].<ref>Known as Béijīng 北京 since 1949.</ref> In [[1932]] he followed his teacher Fǎfǎng [[法舫]] to Wǔchāng where they established the library of the World Buddhist Studies Center [[世界佛學苑]].
