	This hermitage was built by a group of Hong Kongese lay Buddhists in order to attract Bǎojìng [[寶靜]], abbot of Guānzōng Temple [[觀宗寺]] in Níngbō [[寧波]] to spend more time in Hong Kong. Bǎojìng came in [[1939]] and left the following year. Unfortunately, he died unexpectedly in Shànghǎi [[上海]] later that year.
