Fóxué yuèkān 佛學月刊 (Buddhism Monthly)

There were a number of periodicals with similar names to this during the Republican period. See also 佛教月刊 and 佛學月報

  • Run: ??? (see "notes" below)
  • Location(s): Běijīng
  • Person(s): Zhōu Shújiā 周叔迦
  • Associated Organizations: Chinese Buddhist Seminary 中國佛教院

Printed by Beijing Buddhist Books 北京佛學書局, this periodical ran to roughly 30 pages per issue. Much of the material in it was written by students at the Chinese Buddhist Seminary. It covered everything in the wider Buddhist world from literary, artistic, and other angles.

Holmes Welch claims this periodical ran from 1925 to 1945, though it was originally published at Beijing's Guǎngjì Temple 廣濟寺 before being moved to the Seminary.[1]The index to the MFQ says it ran from June 1, 1937 to 1940. Gāo Zhènnóng 高震農 claims it ran from June 1, 1941, to December 1943.[2] This is supported by the range of holdings in the MFQ.

MFQ has 31 issues. Looks to be a complete run from 1941-1944.
